Natalie Dormer
(born 11 February 1982) is an English actress. Her accolades include an Empire
Award, nominations for a Critics Choice Award along with two Gemini Awards, and
two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Her birthplace was in Reading, Berkshire,
Dormer made her mark in the role of Anne Boleyn on The Tudors, a Showtime show
The Tudors (2007-08), which won her wide acclaim. In Sweet Nothings (2010), she
made her stage debut. She was also the Duchess Of York in Madonna's W.E. (2011)
as well as Private Lorraine in Captain America the First Avenger (2011). After
Miss Julie (2012) in the Young Vic, was highly praised. Dormer received
international praise and interest for her roles as Margaery Tyrell (2012-2016
on HBO) and Cressida (2014-2015 on The Hunger Games), which are among her
most-watched films. She also played Irene Adler/Moriarty in the CBS series
Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price (2016, 2017) and Onica in The Dark
Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). She earned praise for her character in the
mini-series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (2020). Dormer was born in Reading
(Berkshire), England on February 11, 1982. She is the daughter of Gary Dormer,
Claire Richards, and Samantha Dormer.
